Try it: check a member export for damage from a spreadsheet program

This is the working version of the member export tutorial. It reads a CSV file that was opened and saved again in a spreadsheet program and lists cells to compare with the original export: ZIP codes that lost a leading zero, ID numbers in scientific notation or cut short, chapter codes turned into dates, day numbers in text columns, garbled characters, stray spaces and date columns with mixed formats. It changes nothing and writes no corrected file.

Your file stays in your browser. It is read in this page only. Nothing is uploaded, stored or sent anywhere. Reload the page to forget it. Suggested corrections are guesses for a person to confirm against the original export. The ZIP length rule, the expected ID length and the day-number range 36526 to 55153 (2000-01-01 to 2050-12-31) are this tool's own settings, not standards. The 5-digit rule is for US ZIP codes.
